From this moment on, I will not longer be part of Trilogy.hk’s administration.

This has been a bittersweet decision. I love Trilogy.hk and I had been here since it started its life as Lagless Team Fortress 2 server, but life has gotten into the way and I can no longer devote my time and resources to Trilogy.hk anymore. In fact, for the past two years, despite the myriads of new ideas I promised to deliver, I have not been able to realize them, not even once.

I have hindered the growth of Trilogy.hk and I decided to leave. Trilogy.hk is now in the right hands and will be stronger than ever.

I hereby thank Nakaya and Billie Joe for working with me for the past few years. They are some of the most brilliant people I have ever met.

In a departure from our usual style, we admins at Trilogy.hk would like to share with you a song that we love.

In the spirit of transparency, we are making available some of the information about the recent DDoS attacks:

• We suspect the attacks were launched in retaliation.
• In mid-January, the attacker targeted game.trilogy.hk, which pointed to the IP address of the game server.
• We stopped updating game.trilogy.hk to point to the new IP addresses of the game server in late-January, and game service resumed in that period.
• In early-February, the attacker launched the attacks directly to the IP address of the game server, and continued even after we changed the IP address.

We condemn any party involved in the attacks. We strongly urge players who have information pertaining to the attacks to contact us immediately at admin [@ at] trilogy [. dot] hk. We appreciate your help in advance.

Trilogy.hk has unfortunately been the target of a spate of denial-of-service (DoS) attacks over the past few weeks. Game service is therefore unstable, and sometimes completely unavailable.

We hereby apologize profusely for any inconvenience and frustration this has caused to our players and our devoted fans.

Until the onslaught of attacks is over, we expect service to remain unstable. Trilogy.hk is actively taking measures to mitigate the attacks and working to restore normal service as soon as possible.

Trilogy.hk is undertaking an investigation into the attacks. If you have any information that you believe to be useful in the investigation or relevant to the attacks, please contact us immediately at admin [at @] trilogy [dot .] hk. Please include your in-game player name in the e-mail. We thank you in advance for your assistance in tracking this down.

UPDATED Jan. 21, 2014: We believe the attacks are over and Trilogy.hk game service is working properly. However, investigation has not ended. Please contact us if you have any information. Thank you.

UPDATE Feb. 6, 2014: Trilogy.hk is being attacked again and we apologize for the inconvenience caused. We will resume normal service as soon as possible.

The statistics were reset on December 25, 2013, and the next reset is scheduled for April 25, 2014.

We apologize for the delay in the announcement for the winners of the fourth Trilogy.hk Rewards, due to the gigantic database we recorded just before the reset. The 4th Trilogy.hk Rewards is special because we’re giving away another six keys to randomly selected players, in addition to the usual six we reward players for their performance and their support.

Trilogy.hk’s admins will contact the above winners no later than January 13, 2014 11:59 PM GMT +8. If the winners under the don’t respond within one week of first attempt to contact, prizes will be given to the runner-ups for winners under the “best-performing” or “most loyal” categories, and will be given to other randomly selected player for the winners under the “random” category.

We cannot thank our players enough for their continued support. We have given away 30 keys in the past 14 months, and it really showed how much dedication our players have to Trilogy.hk servers. We are immensely grateful for that. We are concluding Trilogy.hk Rewards, but we are not stopping giving away things. Stay tuned for surprises and giveaways in the future – you might just win something bigger than keys.

In the beginning of 2013 we promised that a “sea change” was coming to Trilogy.hk. Due to various reasons we have not been able to deliver all the changes to the servers as well as Trilogy.hk as a whole, but be assured that development is underway. We do not have a concrete timeframe when these features are going to be rolled out yet, but you will absolutely be pleased with the outcome. There is a lot to look forward to in 2014.

To allow us to optimize the network performance of Trilogy.hk servers, Trilogy.hk’s game servers will be shut down on November 27.

Trilogy.hk servers will be relocated between October 24 and 26. During this time, all game servers will be shut down to allow us to reconfigure the game servers and perform final testing. Your statistical data will remain intact. The website will remain functional.

We hereby apologize for the longer-than-usual downtime and we hope to see you on October 27!

We screwed up big time.

We failed to retrieve the winners of our fourth Trilogy.hk Rewards, because the database had been reset before our responsible admin could select the winners. We attempted to revert to a database backup before the reset but it turned out the backup was half a year old, far beyond the acceptable time range.

As a result, we are unable to select the winners who performed the best, nor could we select six players randomly.

We apologize profusely for the incident and understand that some of you may feel betrayed. We also know that you have lost some trust in us.

In hopes of preventing similar incidents in the future, we are going to undertake these actions:

1. Database backups will be performed daily from now on.
2. We will strengthen our communications between admins and winners will be selected before statistics are reset on the next giveaway.
3. An extra database backup will be made before the reset.

Since we are unable to give away the keys right now, as selecting anyone would be unfair to anyone who had played before the last statistic reset, we will be deferring the fourth Trilogy.hk Rewards, as well as the next statistic reset until December 25, 2013. The extra time will allow you to compete your way to the top and match your previous results more closely. The 12 keys, as promised, will be given away to six best players and six random players on that date.

We apologize once again for the significant inconvenience, and we hope we will win your trust back through our service. Thank you for your continued support.

As previously announced, statistics for all servers have been reset. We are currently in the process of selecting the winners of the fourth Trilogy.hk Rewards and will be announcing the winners shortly.
